Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering as a volunteer node operator with Upproret ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not register or operate a bridge node.

2. Eligibility

You must meet all of the following to participate:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have legal authorization to share bandwidth on the connection you enroll
  • Not be located in a jurisdiction where participation would violate applicable law
  • Have read and understood the Upproret Protocol document

3. Nature of Participation

You are an independent contractor, not an employee or agent of Upproret. You retain full control over your hardware and connection. Upproret does not direct your operations beyond what is technically necessary to relay traffic within your configured parameters.

4. Bandwidth and Usage

  • You are responsible for ensuring your ISP terms permit bandwidth sharing
  • Upproret does not indemnify you against overage charges from your ISP
  • You may set hard bandwidth caps via the bridge agent at any time
  • Upproret will not exceed your configured caps under any circumstances

5. Compensation

Compensation rates are subject to change with 30 days written notice. Upproret reserves the right to withhold payment pending verification of throughput data. Disputes must be submitted within 60 days of the relevant payment period.

6. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Upproret bridge to:

  • Relay traffic you know or suspect to be unlawful
  • Circumvent the traffic category restrictions defined in the Protocol
  • Tamper with, reverse engineer, or modify the bridge agent to disable safety controls
  • Misrepresent your throughput or node capabilities

7. Termination

Either party may terminate participation at any time, for any reason, with immediate effect. Outstanding compensation for verified throughput completed prior to termination remains payable. Upproret may suspend a node immediately if it detects protocol violations, with notice provided within 48 hours.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, UPPRORET'S LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR PARTICIPATION SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL COMPENSATION PAID TO YOU IN THE 90 DAYS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. [PLACEHOLDER — FULL LIABILITY CLAUSE TO BE INSERTED BY COUNSEL.]

9. Governing Law

10. Changes to Terms

Upproret may update these Terms at any time. Continued operation of a bridge node after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance. You will be notified of material changes via the email address on your account.
